All of our gyms have been closed for just over 3 months now and we don’t know about you but we’ve really missed it! For a lot of us, exercise is an essential part of our daily/weekly routine as it helps us push ourselves physically and mentally to achieve our goals. 

Whilst some of you have been sticking with your exercise during lockdown, nothing beats working out in a dedicated exercise space with lots of quality equipment and facilities available to you. Of course, Covid-19 has also made a lot of us realise the importance of exercise when we may have otherwise neglected it. So, whilst we eagerly anticipate when we can reopen our doors, think about how our gyms could help you improve your health.

Signing up for a gym isn’t just the first step on a fitness journey. It’s the first step towards improving your physical health and improving your chance of fighting off infection. Not only this, but it’s the first step towards a stronger and more positive state of mind. Throughout our gyms we have a number of different areas where you can workout in either our Cardio Zones, Resistance Machines Zones, Combat Zones and/or Free Weights Zones. This diverse range of equipment means that there is something for all interests. No matter your favoured type of training, our gyms allow you to focus on your fitness in your way.

Not only do we provide a wide range of equipment and facilities to our members, but we provide all of this in spacious environments. That’s especially more important in a time when we’re recovering from Covid-19 as a nation. This extra space means that you’re able to exercise and complete your workout in comfort. You don’t have to worry about someone being too close to you or having to change your workout – you can still attend the gym as you wish and work towards your fitness goals as you always would.

We always aim to make our gyms work for our members. We’ll be ensuring that social distancing measures are carried out throughout our gyms to make sure that members and staff feel comfortable. The safety of our members and staff is our biggest priority which is why our gyms will be following Government guidelines and ensuring that you can focus on your fitness with reassurance that you’ll be safe and comfortable.

Here’s a step-by-step process for members to view upcoming live stream and on-demand virtual classes schedule via the X4L app:

Step 1:

Open your X4L app and on the home screen of the app, tap ‘My Club’.

Step 2:

Once your list of clubs appear, you need to make sure that you’re using the ‘X4L Online Gym’. If this club isn’t showing, you need add it to your account by following our guide here.

Step 3:

Once you have selected the correct club, your home screen should look a little different. This time, tap onto ‘classes’.

Step 4:

This should bring up a daily view calendar. You can now look through the various days of the week at different times to see the range of live virtual classes that are available for you to book onto. Once you find a class that you want to join, simply tap on it and book!

Click the workouts icon for all our @Home Workouts and click on the classes icon to book all of our live stream and on-demand GX classes. There you can browse the weekly exercise class schedule to find the right class for you. Choose the fitness class in that you want to attend and click book. You’re now ready for your live virtual class at home.

Here’s a step-by-step process for members to view the upcoming live virtual classes schedule via a laptop or computer when accessing VirtuaGym:

Step 1:

Log into your VirtuaGym account as normal with your username/email address and password.

Step 2:

Once your list of clubs appear, you need to make sure that you’re using the ‘X4L Online Virtual Gym’. If this club isn’t showing, click on drop down box in the left hand corner and click ‘club finder’ and then follow our guide (step 3 and 4). Once you’re on the ‘X4L Online Gym’ page, click ‘join group’.

Step 3:

Once you have selected the correct club, you need to click on ‘schedule’ on the left hand side of your screen.

Step 4:

This is the way to view the live virtual class schedule. Look through the different classes available on different dates/times and see which one(s) you’re interested in. Flick through this calendar until you find something you like and then click into that class for more information.

This should bring up a daily view calendar. Tap on the arrows at either to work your way through the days of the week.

Step 5:

As you now flick through the calendar, you’ll notice that GX classes appear at different days and times during the week. Once you find a class that you want to join, tap on it and then select ‘join’.

Once the class has been booked, you’ll receive an email containing a link to access your class once it’s live.

This will bring up a calendar filled with virtual GX classes that are taking place on different days and times. Flick through this calendar until you find something you like. Once you’ve found one, click on the class.

This will give you an overview of the class. To book onto it, simply click ‘book now’.

Step 6:

Once the class has been booked, you’ll receive an email containing a link to access your class once it is live.

Here’s a step-by-step process for members to gain access to the X4L Online Gym which allows members to follow @home workouts, view the class schedule and book onto the live stream and on-demand classes:

Step 1:

Open your X4L app and on the home screen of the app, tap ‘My Club’ or clicking on the arrows in the top right hand corner of your screen.

Step 2:

Once the name of your club appears, you need to tap ‘switch club’. If that option doesn’t appear, please click on the arrows in the top right hand corner. Once you’ve done that, then tap on the ‘+’ in the top right hand corner.

Step 3:

Once you’ve tapped on the ‘+’ it should then open up a map of the UK. Tap on the search bar and type in ‘Leeds’. It doesn’t matter where your home club is in the UK, you need to do this to access the virtual club.

Step 4:

Once you’ve clicked search, an ‘X4L Online Gym’ on Kirkstall Road option should appear. Tap this and then ‘add to my clubs’ to gain access to the information you need.

Step 5:

Switch over to this club to access the schedule and to book both the live stream and on-demand classes. When you’ve finished, switch back to your original home club to use the app as you usually would.
